The College aced the challenge to get 12 more degree programs qualified for Level 1 Accredited Status from the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines last August 3-8 at the Talisay, Alijis, and Binalbagan Campuses, following the lead of the Fortune Towne Campus’ successful accreditation of its seven programs in March this year.
The 12 programs awarded the AACCUP Level 1 Accredited Status effective from August 16, 2015 to August 15, 2018 are as follows:
|Binalbagan Campus (6)||Talisay Campus (4)|
|Bachelor of Elementary Education||AB in English|
|Bachelor of Secondary Education||AB in Social Science|
|BS in Business Administration||BS in Information Systems|
|BS in Criminology||BS in Civil Engineering|
|BS in Fisheries||Alijis Campus (2)|
|BS in Information Technology||BS in Industrial Technology|
|BS in Information Technology|
The accreditation action started in Binalbagan on August 3-5, with all 22 accreditors examining the documentary requirements, and then breaking into two smaller groups on August 6-7 for simultaneous accreditations in the Alijis and Talisay Campuses.
They were not sparing in their scrutiny of the documentary requirements and validation of material evidences, with some accreditors putting in specific requests to visit actual extension sites and partner communities despite the sporadic rains—all in the interest of authentically appraising the areas for evaluation.
The back-to-back accreditations were initiated by the Office of Quality Assurance and Accreditation, under the leadership of Dr. Norberto Mangulabnan, as one of the Major Strategic Project Interventions for the College to take a step forward in the direction of universityhood.
